Reopening of Sacred Money Studios & Prosperity Pie Shoppe

On Monday, March 18th, Sacred Money Studios & Prosperity Pie Shoppe experienced an electrical fire when a cafe oven malfunctioned. As a result, the cafe was shut down for restoration and the installation of a new oven. Prosperity Pie Shoppe has announced it will reopen on Saturday 3/21 at 12pm, after receiving clearance from inspectors.

This business has been a labor of love for the past three years by co-founders Luna Jaffe, Amy Jaffe, and Jenn Pauuwe-Riffe. Sacred Money Studios and Prosperity Pie Shoppe is fully committed to providing a community gathering space, excellent food, and financial education.

They support local musicians with live music Friday and Saturday nights, and have a weekly Open Mic, hosted by Vivian Powers. The retail gallery features local artists and fair trade products, which is in alignment with their mission to uplift and empower small business owners who are committed to creative expression.

In January the owners launched their Second Chance program, in partnership with the Family Preservation Project, to hire women transitioning out of incarceration. They offer training and mentoring, paid employment and help with placement in future jobs.

Sacred Money Studios & Prosperity Pie Shoppe is thankful nobody was injured and was blessed with a quick responding fire department, a competent insurance agent (Christopher Levesque at Insurance Partners NW), and employees and community members willing to jump in and help.

While their insurance will cover much of the expenses of replacing lost food and retail inventory and the thorough cleaning required to reopen, it does not fully cover the replacement and programming of the new oven or lost revenue. They have launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover expenses so they can get back on their feet quickly.

Everyone is invited to celebrate the reopening of the cafe on Saturday, March 23rd at 12pm. More information about the business can be found at and
